Reporting

FIM develops space studies, reports and surveys associated with teaching, research, public service and administrative functions of UIC. Some specific examples of reporting include space utilization reporting, administrative cost reporting, code compliance, and state/federal reporting to entities such as the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Facilities and Administrative (F&A) Cost Recovery Space Survey

A comprehensive survey that captures changes to space layouts, assignments, utilization, usage and other space attributes, this is one of the most critical supporting activities associated with preparing the Facilities & Administrative (F&A rate) or indirect cost proposal. Results of the survey determine how most of the facility costs (depreciation, interest, and operations and maintenance expenses) in the F&A cost proposal will be allocated to university functions such as instruction and organized research.

National Science Foundation’s Survey of Science and Engineering Research Facilities

This Congressionally mandated, biennial survey collects data on the amount, construction, repair, renovation, and funding of research facilities, as well as the computing and networking capacities at U.S. universities.

Resource Allocation and Management Program (RAMP)

This component of UIC’s annual budget request is submitted to the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) to provide a summary of operations costs by functional classification and by the source of funds.

The Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Survey

This survey provides accurate and complete inventory, utilization and capital improvement information related to UIC’s state-owned and state-leased properties.
