Sustainability Fund
The Sustainability Fund supports campus sustainability initiatives by funding small, short-term projects, subsidizing larger efforts and assisting students with travel to sustainability-related conferences. Established as a student-led initiative, the fund enhances campus operations, reduces environmental impact and fosters engagement. Administered by the Sustainability Fund Advisory Board, funding is available for university-affiliated projects that align with climate and sustainability goals.
Sustainability Internship Program
The Sustainability Internship Program (SIP) offers undergraduate students hands-on experience in advancing social, economic and environmental sustainability. Through project-based engagement, students apply classroom knowledge to real-world sustainability initiatives. Since 2014, SIP has connected over 200 students with internships across campus and with external partners, working on projects ranging from waste reduction and energy efficiency to transportation and environmental research.
Teaching Sustainability Initiative
The Teaching Sustainability Initiative (TSI) supports instructors in integrating sustainability into their courses through training, resources and compensation. Now in its sixth year, TSI provides faculty from all disciplines with guidance on incorporating sustainability concepts into curricula. The program fosters collaboration, offering access to experienced educators who provide feedback on developing dynamic, sustainability-focused course content.
Sustainability Courses
A wide range of courses explore environmental, social and economic sustainability, offering opportunities to engage with sustainability topics across disciplines. Students are encouraged to explore options within their department or beyond to find courses that challenge and inspire them. This information serves as a resource, and course selection should be made in consultation with faculty, department staff or academic advisors.
