UIC is a major public research university located in the heart of one of the largest transit systems in the country; students from around the world come to Chicago to study here. The student population is over 27,000 and total staff is approximately 12,000. UIC also attracts visitors in need of health care as well as those who attend events at public venues such as the Credit Union 1 Arena and the Isadore and Sadie Dorin Forum. Each person coming to the campus makes a decision about his or her mode choice and there are many options. A great transportation system must continuously provide safety, reliability, connectivity, cleanliness, and good value.
